I am sure there are people that will disagree with me on that, and I understand if you are one of them. But the way I see it when people inevitably ask him if he has put in efforts to apologize, he can with honesty say that he has.” Elinor paused for a moment. Her voice was a tired, long day at work, not enough coffee. Perhaps this was merely the opinion of a rich woman used to seeing the world through money. Money and influence were the bread and butter of the Anderson family after all, and one often bought the other. “Whether it’s illegal for us to accept the money is… how do I say this… A grey area? Yeah, the money was donated through a charity, so technically he didn’t have anything to do with it. But it does lead back to him.” Yeah, even she could hear how that sounded. She didn't enjoy talking law with this little caffeine in her blood. “But being the main villain of a scathing news article in the HNN does not make someone a criminal, even if the story is true… Unless you’ve filed charges with the police since last we spoke then in the eyes of the law Amor is currently not a criminal.” Elinor didn’t enjoy saying that. And she did not try to hide that from her voice. But she had to play by the law or she would be no better than the criminals. A stray thought crossed her mind, and before she could filter the words they were blurted out into the phone.
